  1. 3-4 ripe Haas Avocados
  2. 1/2 white or yellow onion
  3. 2 plum tomatoes
  4. 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  5. 1 jalapeno pepper, halved, seeded, de-stemmed
  6. 1/4 bunch cilantro
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 1/2 tsp cumin
  9. 1/4 tsp cayenne
  10. 1 tbsp. fresh lime juice
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Cut avocados in half.  Remove the seed and scoop out into Vitamix or Blendtec.  You can save the skins and serve the guacamole in them if you like!
  2. Add tomatoes and lime juice and blend with avocado for 15 seconds.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients into Vitamix, Blendtec or regular blender.  Blend until smooth!
  4. Serve in a bowl or in the avocado skins, with tortilla chips or keep it raw by serving with veggie sticks.

AvocadoThe avocado is a tree classified in the flowering plant family Lauraceae.  The fruit of the tree is very high in monounsaturated fat.  Though mostly comprised of fat, avocados are also an excellent source of dietary fiber.  Avocados are also high in Vitamin CVitamin B6Potassium, and Magnesium.  Research studies suggest a diet that is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids helps lower LDL or bad cholesterol and increases HDL or good cholesterol.
