About Green Smoothies

Let’s talk about Green Smoothies for a minute… So why are they so important?  Well, it’s like this…  when you eat RAW foods, fast foods, processed foods your liver has to break all the good, the bad, and the ugly nutrients down for your body to digest and store into your body.  So by replacing a meal with a GREEN SMOOTHIE  your liver is able to take a breathier for a few hours until you eat that big heavy meal again.  Green smoothies also help your liver replace unhealthy toxins with healthy nutrient-rich fats from fruits, vegetables, and anything else you add into your green smoothie.

Making a GREEN SMOOTHIE is tough.  It’s not easy to make a good green smoothie, there is a secret to it.  If it doesn’t taste good you might not want to drink it, or it could be tough to swallow.  The secret is to add slightly more sweet fruits than leafy green vegetables or greens.  Read this article, it will help.

You want to make it as easy as possible on yourself to make these smoothies, you don’t want to get discouraged because you have a wimpy blender that can’t handle a Dr. Oz Green Juice recipe.  A High Powered Blendtec or Vitamix blender, or any blender that compares are your best bet for achieving the greater results.  The a high powered blender breaks it’s nutrients down better than a regular blender. Tips for using a Regular Blender:
With a Regular Blender you’ll need to chop the ingredients up into tiny little pieces in order for the blender to more easily liquify the fruits and vegetables. You’ll want to blend your greens and liquids first and then add in the remaining ingredients and blend one more time to properly liquify everything.

Note on Prepping your ingredients:

We recommend that you do the shopping and prep all the ingredients for your smoothies for the entire week the day before you start the challenge (Sunday usually works nice). Just chop up the fruits and vegetables and store them in Zip Lock Bags with a label identifying what recipe it is, this will make it easy for you to just get up and go, and we find that if you make it easy on yourself, you’ll get through the green smoothie recipes more readily and be more likely to do the challenge

Make sure and SET GOALS for yourself throughout the Challenge

To achieve the ultimate results it helps to set goals for yourself such as weight loss or strengthening muscles.

Weight Loss is a great goal for the challenge and in two weeks you can shed some pounds –

The Best way to lose weight is to replace one meal per day with a Green Smoothie.  This will naturally cause you to lose weight and by exercising everyday you will also increase your chances for even more weight loss.  You may have to double up on the ingredients in the Green Smoothie Recipes in order to fill your stomach up! So if you normally drink just 16 ounces than you might want to drink 32 ounces or more if you feel that you’re not full enough.  You can fill the entire jar up and drink the green smoothie throughout the day.

Strengthen and Toning Up Muscles is another great goal –

You can make bigger gains and strengthen and tone muscles more by advancing to more difficult Pilates workouts. If you are a beginner or first timer, start with the beginner Pilates video and when you feel like you’re ready, move up to the Intermediate video, then if you feel like you can do it, try the advanced Pilates video to really tone up and make more gains. After completing the workouts you will notice a difference mentally and physically. The workout out for advanced video is a bit longer so you’ll have to dedicate more time during your day to compete the workout, it runs for close to 30 minutes vs the intermediate video which is a little less than 20 minutes and the beginner video is a quick 10 minute workout.  All the videos we’re custom designed for this program by professional Pilates instructor Jasmine Adele.

For more gains EAT CLEAN during the challenge:

Eat clean meals during the challenge, no red meats, stay with chicken, turkey or fish. Anything with 2 legs is OK, just stay away from the 4 legged animals. Remember you cannot drink to much Green Smoothies so feel free to drink them throughout the day! If you want to push yourself hard, you can substitute a Green Smoothie for an in between meal snack and have a light dinner or lunch. Do what fits you and your daily habits, but make sure you get enough food and liquid throughout the Challenge

Beware… Don’t DETOX or Juice Cleanse while doing the workouts

The workouts should not be done while doing a hardcore juice cleanse or extreme detox. If you wish to do that you should consult with a doctor.  Detoxing can be a sudden change for your body because it is very extreme to completely cut out foods which you normally eat everyday and only drink juices; you can get dizzy spells. We use the green smoothies in this program to help with recovery time and energy, it’s not meant to be an extreme detox.  It would be alright to do a detox or cleanse after the program or before the program, but not during.  The workouts require a lot of energy and you will be sweating.  Always consult with a professional physician before doing an extreme detox.
